FOSTER CITY, CA (June 1, 2006) – Digital Mountain, Inc. a leading national provider of electronic discovery and computer forensics services today announced the addition of SecureWipeTM  services to its offerings. SecureWipeTM enables more effective disposal of storage media in Corporate America decreasing risk exposure. Data on computers that will be disposed of and donated or sold in the secondary market resulting from divestitures, downsizing or technology obsolescence, should be wiped in order to protect a company’s intellectual property or confidential customer data.  Contrary to popular belief, reformatting digital media does not delete data. Rather, pointers to the data maintained in the file system are eliminated. Wiping of hard drives should be a key component of every company’s risk management plan. “Customer lists, schematics or designs, source code, financial statements and other company jewels may walk out the door when hard drives are disposed of or donated if hard drives are not wiped,” said Julie Lewis, President of Digital Mountain. Lewis adds, “In order to better service our customer base and its ever expanding data needs, we decided to further expand our service offerings to secure data wiping. This was a natural extension to our core business since we currently provide onsite and offsite forensic imaging and electronic evidence collection services nationwide.”
